Summit on the Neuroscience of Twice-Exceptionality

Bridging psychology and neuroscience, the Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and the Iowa Neuroscience Institute will collaborate to bring researchers, clinicians, educators, and parents together to address the current state of research on twice-exceptionality. Part of the purpose of this interdisciplinary summit is to form partnerships with other institutions in furthering twice-exceptional research and best practice.

Credit Option

Attendees have the option to earn one semester hour of credit for attending the Summit through PSQF:4128:0WKA Neuroscientific Implications of Giftedness: Advancing Understanding of Twice-Exceptionality. The class will start on July 27 and end on August 14. Enrollment is restricted to ensure participation in the Summit; contact to override the restriction. Participants will receive a 50% tuition scholarship (based on graduate tuition for summer term). The total cost, whether registering as a graduate or undergraduate student, will be 50% of the graduate tuition, or $280. Details about how to register for credit are available at

The summit will take place on Monday, July 20th and Tuesday, July 21st on the University of Iowa campus. The event will feature a variety of keynotes and breakout sessions delving into recent research's insights into twice-exceptionality. More details coming spring 2020.
