SAR takes place July 5–24, 2020. After considering guidelines for social distancing, whether families and staff would be able to safely travel and stay on campus, and the protection and wellbeing of minors on campus during a pandemic, we made the difficult decision to cancel SAR.
The Summer Art Residency (SAR) is a unique opportunity to work with world-class faculty in a world-class facility. SAR consists of demonstrations, workshops, critiques, and studio time involving a range of expressive opportunities. Each day begins with a drawing class addressing the formal and conceptual bases of drawing and contemporary approaches to effective visual communication. From there, you will have studio time to work on your art. After lunch, you will take electives in Graphic Design, Printmaking, and Metal Arts. Finally, there will be Flex Time for speakers, field trips, or group work to round out your day.
